This is a bulletin by John based on satellite calls with Venkata:
All equipment was finally located – this was a relief as some of the gear missing included the two living tents to be used during drilling. The last 2 days have been pretty bad weather. Veijo and
Rickard attempted to do the drill site radar survey on 12/4 but had to return to the station before getting on to the ice cap. However, the weather has given eeveryone the chance to rest after all the exertions of opening the station and getting all gear ready for work. There are now 12 people at the station. The snow scooters are running, though email is still not working and this blog is based on voice calls only.
The next step is start ferrying up the drilling equipment by snow scooter to the summit of Vestfonna, starting in the night of 14 April. Hopefully the radar survey will be done at the same time and the final drilling site chosen immediately. -John
