Kinnvika research program: Kinnvika: Change and variability of the Arctic Systems –Nordaustlandet, Svalbard is an international, multidisciplinary project that forms Finland’s major contribution to the International Polar Year (IPY 2007-2009).
The main goal of the scientists from the Arctic Centre participating in the expedition is to decipher chemical records of the 350 m deep ice core from Vestfonna glacier. The field team is drilling the ice core in spring 2008, and this webblog is about the drilling expedition.
